Hon. Okaegwu Isioma Peter has emerged as the new Delta State Chairman of the Action People’s Party (APP) following the party’s state congress held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
The congress, which marked the climax of the party’s internal electoral process in the state, was held at Falcon Club, Asaba, in the presence of officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Speaking with journalists shortly after the exercise, Okaegwu described his emergence as the beginning of a new era for the party in the state under his leadership.
He noted that the party had successfully conducted its ward congresses across the state on April 22, while the local government congresses were held on April 24, ahead of the state congress.
The new chairman expressed appreciation to the National Working Committee of the APP for the confidence reposed in him and his team, assuring the leadership that they would not disappoint the trust placed in them.
He also charged all newly elected party leaders in the state to remain steadfast and committed to the responsibilities entrusted to them.
According to him, leadership comes with accountability, stressing that “to whom much is given, much is expected.”
