MLSCN Accreditation Team Visits DELSU, As VC Applauds Council’s Drive For Professional Standardisation

Members of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) were on a visit to Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, for the professional accreditation of the Medical Laboratory Science programme.

Speaking during the team’s courtesy call which held recently at the Vice Chancellor’s Conference Room, Site II, DELSU, Abraka, Vice Chancellor of DELSU, Professor Samuel Ogheneovo Asagba, welcomed the Council members to the University.

Professor Asagba also commended the Council’s effort in maintaining standards in the medical laboratory science profession.

He cited instances where inaccurate laboratory results, arising from unprofessional practices, had led to grave consequences and adversely affected lives. Professor Asagba, in conclusion, informed the Council that DELSU has put in place the necessary measures for the successful professional accreditation of the programme.

Leader of the delegation, Professor Samuel Bartimaeus Ebirien-Agana, in his speech earlier, expressed appreciation to the Vice Chancellor and DELSU management team for the warm reception accorded them since their arrival in the University.

He also formally informed the Vice Chancellor that the Medical Laboratory Science Council was in DELSU to oversee the processes towards the professional accreditation of the Medical Laboratory Science programme run by the university.

Professor Ebirien-Agana assured the Vice Chancellor that the Accreditation Team would carry out their assignment diligently.

Director of Academic Planning, Professor Felix Enwa, in his speech, thanked the MLSCN team for coming to DELSU for the professional accreditation exercise. Professor Enwa went on to inform the visitors of the itinerary for the exercise.

Other highlights of the visit were group photograph of members of the MLSCN with DELSU Management, inspection of facilities of the programme in the University and the presentation of Exit Report at the end of the exercise.
