Youth development advocate, marketing executive and grassroots mobilier, Mr Oke Umurhohwo, has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Delta State House of Assembly election to represent Ughelli North Constituency II in the 2027 general elections.

Umurhohwo emerged during the PDP primary election held in Ughelli on Friday, in an exercise party leaders and members described as peaceful, transparent and largely driven by consensus and unity within the constituency.

His emergence followed the decision of other aspirants to step down and align with his candidacy in what stakeholders at the venue described as a strategic move to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking shortly after the exercise, Umurhohwo expressed appreciation to party leaders, excos, youths, women and supporters across the constituency for the confidence reposed in him.

Speaking on recent political realignments in Delta State, Umurhohwo maintained that the PDP remains a strong political force in Ughelli North, insisting that the party’s structure, grassroots acceptance and longstanding relationship with the people remain intact.
