Anambra Will Vote For Tinubu In 2027 — Soludo Declares

Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, has declared that the state will support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, urging the South-East to align with Nigeria’s prevailing political realities.

Speaking in Awka during a meeting with members of the Women Wing of the City Boy Movement, Soludo argued that the country’s presidential politics is largely shaped by an unwritten power-sharing arrangement between the North and the South. He said President Tinubu, having succeeded former President Muhammadu Buhari, should be allowed to complete what he described as the South’s turn in power.

The governor warned against what he termed the “wasting of votes” in 2027, insisting that the South-East must strategically position itself within the political coalition that could secure Tinubu’s re-election. He stressed that political influence is achieved through active participation and effective bargaining with votes.

Soludo further urged political actors and supporters in the region to intensify grassroots mobilization ahead of the next general election, maintaining that the South-East stands to gain more by aligning with the existing power structure.

The declaration is the latest indication of Soludo’s continued support for Tinubu, whom he has previously described as a longtime friend and a leader undertaking bold economic reforms.
