ANUPA-DELSU Holds 2026 Annual Lecture/Day, As VC Tasks Members On Exemplary Conduct

The Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka Branch, has organised its 2026 Annul Lecture/ANUPA Day.
Speaking during the lecture which took place on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at the 500 Seater Hall, Faculty of Education, Site III, DELSU, Abraka, Vice Chancellor, Professor Samuel Ogheneovo Asagba, charged ANUPA-DELSU members to live above board in the discharge of their professional duties.
Represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Professor Edmund Aviedo Atakpo, Professor Asagba also commended the executive of ANUPA-DELSU for putting the 2026 annual lecture together to sensitise members on the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in efficient service delivery as professional administrators.
He also thanked members of the Association for their dedicated service to the University which has advanced the operations of the institution.
Professor Asagba in his concluding remarks said his administration looks forward to more cooperation from members of the Association as he is committed t invested in the wellbeing of members of staff of the University.
In her speech earlier, Registrar of DELSU and Matron of ANUPA-DELSU, Mrs Rufina Ufuoma Ufiofio, expressed her profound appreciation to DELSU Vice Chancellor, Professor Samuel Ogheneovo Asagba, for approving the programme.
She also urged members to embrace the ethical use of AI as it is a new world order that has come to stay and would assist members in enhancing rather than displacing human ingenuity in the course of discharging their duties.
She further advised members to shun all forms of unethical practices, stating that a good name is better than pecuniary gains.
Mrs. Ufiofio concluded by charging members to carry themselves with pride, confidence and be committed, as they are the engine room and very important stakeholders in the University system.
Chairperson of ANUPA-DELSU, Mrs Elizabeth Zuliatu Jiff-Mokobia, in her opening address welcomed all participants to the 2026 Annul Lecture/ANUPA Day.
She further informed the gathering that the 2026 Lecture should be regarded as a stepping stone for greater administrative efficiency and performance that would re-define ANUPA-DELSU.
She said that the event reflects the collective journey marked by the achievements, the challenges, and the unwavering commitment of the Association. Mrs Jiff-Mokobia, in her closing remarks conveyed her gratitude to all who made the event a success and enjoined all members to remain steadfast in upholding the integrity, diligence and excellence of the University.
Other highlights of the event were the lectures as delivered by the resource persons: Re-engineering Administrative Excellence in Tertiary Institutions: AI, the New Normal by Mr Johnbull Otolo; and Ethics, Data Security and the Human Touch in AI-Driven Administration by Mr Kesiena Ejovi, interactions after each lecture and a photo session.
