DELSU Organises Capacity Training For HODS, Others On Result Engine And Digital Appraisal

Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, through the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), has organised a two-day capacity training workshop for Heads of Departments (HoDs) and other staff on result engine proficiency and use of online portal for promotion appraisals.
Speaking during the training which commenced on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at the ICT Centre, Director of ICT, Professor Friday Okwuonu, who represented the Vice Chancellor, Professor Samuel Ogheneovo Asagba, informed the participants that the training was in line with the vision of Professor Asagba, to digitalise vital operations of the University.
Professor Okwuonu informed the participating Heads of Departments and other attendees that the Vice Chancellor’s laudable initiative was meant to minimise incidences of human errors or interferences during the computation of students’ results. On the introduction of digital (online) completion and submission of staff appraisal forms for promotion, Professor Okwuonu said that the online staff appraisals would migrate the University from paper form of appraisal to paperless form of appraisals, thereby removing the burden of huge financial costs and cumbersome manual processing staff undergo.
In his concluding remarks, Professor Okwuonu expressed his appreciation to the Vice Chancellor for approving the capacity training workshop for HoDs and other staff of the University.

The training programme then moved into its various sessions, led by the respective resource persons, with participants engaging in interactive discussions on the different aspects of the training.
Dignitaries who attended the capacity training workshop included DELSU Vice Chancellor, Professor Samuel Ogheneovo Asagba, represented by DELSU Director of ICT, Professor Friday Okwuonu, Heads of Departments, and concerned course advisers and other staff members of the university.
