DELSU Extends 2026/2027 Post-UTME Registration, Announces Screening Guidelines

Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has announced an amendment to its 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise, extending the application process for prospective candidates seeking admission into the institution.

According to an official bulletin issued by the university on Tuesday, candidates who chose DELSU as their first-choice institution in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored 150 and above are eligible to apply for the screening exercise.

The university stated that online registration commenced on May 29, 2026, and will close at midnight on June 30, 2026. Candidates are expected to complete their applications through the university’s admission portal and will receive further information regarding the screening exercise through the phone numbers and email addresses provided during registration.

DELSU noted that admission opportunities are available across its faculties, including Agriculture, Allied Health Sciences, Arts, Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Communication and Media Studies, Computing, Dentistry, Education, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Law, Management Sciences, Pharmacy, Science, and Social Sciences.

The institution also opened its doors to candidates who did not initially select DELSU as their first-choice university but meet the required cut-off mark. Such candidates, however, must first effect a change of institution through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) portal before the close of the application period.

Direct Entry applicants are required to possess qualifications such as the National Certificate in Education (NCE), Ordinary National Diploma (OND), Higher National Diploma (HND), First Degree, Advanced Level certificates, or their equivalents in relevant disciplines.

The university emphasized that all candidates must upload their O’Level results to the JAMB portal, warning that failure to do so would disqualify them from consideration for admission. Candidates awaiting their results were advised to upload them immediately after release.

DELSU further explained that its admission process is based on a 70:30 grading system, with 70 per cent derived from UTME scores and 30 per cent from performance in five relevant O’Level subjects.

Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable screening fee of N2,000 and complete the online registration process, including the submission of O’Level details, guardian information, and passport photographs.

The university said the current announcement supersedes an earlier bulletin issued on May 29, 2026, and advised prospective candidates to carefully follow all instructions on the admission portal before completing their applications.
