KWASU Governing Council Chairman, Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali, Is Dead
The management of Kwara State University has announced the passing of its Governing Council Chairman, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali.
According to a statement issued by the university, Professor Ambali, an Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), died in the early hours of Saturday, June 6, 2026.
The institution expressed deep sorrow over his demise and prayed for the repose of his soul.
“With submission to the will of Allah, Kwara State University announces the passing of the Governing Council Chairman, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali, OON, in the early hours of Saturday, June 6, 2026,” the statement read.

The university further prayed that Allah forgives his shortcomings and grants him Janatul Firdaus.
Professor Ambali was a respected academic and administrator whose contributions to higher education and institutional development earned him recognition within and beyond the university community. His death is expected to be mourned by colleagues, students, associates and well-wishers across the country.
