No School Fees, No Exams: SDU Issues Fresh Warning To Students

The management of Southern Delta University has reminded students to settle all outstanding school fees and meet attendance requirements ahead of the forthcoming examinations.

The directive was contained in a memo issued by the Registrar, Mrs. Ejiroghene Etobro, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sunny Awhefeada, and addressed to Deans and Heads of Departments.

According to the memo dated June 4, 2026, the university leadership drew attention to an earlier Official Bulletin which stipulates that students must pay all outstanding fees and maintain the required lecture attendance to qualify for examinations.

The university emphasized that any student with unpaid fees or attendance below the approved threshold will not be permitted to participate in examinations.

To ensure compliance, Deans and Heads of Departments were directed to sensitize students on the need to promptly clear any outstanding fees. They were also instructed to advise and closely monitor course lecturers to enforce the university’s policy requiring a minimum of 70 per cent lecture attendance by students.

The memo further stressed the need for departments to ensure that students meet the 70 per cent attendance requirement before being cleared for examinations.

The university management urged all concerned officials to act accordingly to guarantee strict adherence to the institution’s academic regulations and examination policies.
