TCN Maintenance Disrupts Power Supply Across Delta Communities

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that its ongoing preventive maintenance at the Delta 132/33kV Transmission Substation is progressing as scheduled, with work set to continue daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. until June 16, 2026.

According to a statement issued on Friday by TCN’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, the maintenance exercise, which commenced on June 4, is aimed at facilitating the connection of a bus coupler circuit breaker and the rehabilitation of five isolators on the main busbar.

As a result of the maintenance work, several 33kV feeders connected to the Effurun and Delta 132/33kV Transmission Substations will remain out of service during the daily maintenance period. Affected feeders include Effurun, Warri, Sapele, Osubi, Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), PMSL, Refinery I, Refinery II, Enerhen, Isoko/Kwale, Otovwodo/Patani, Ughelli/Shell, Agbarho/Eku, Aladja, Imoniyame and Beta Glass.

TCN, however, assured residents and businesses in the affected areas that electricity supply would be restored each day at 5:00 p.m. after the completion of maintenance activities, allowing Benin Electricity Distribution Company (Benin DisCo) to resume power supply to its customers.

The company apologized for the inconvenience caused by the maintenance exercise and appealed for the understanding of affected electricity consumers.
