DELSU Announces 2026/2027 Academic Calendar, Fixes Matriculation For November 7
Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has released its academic calendar for the 2026/2027 academic session, with fresh students expected to resume on campus on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
According to the calendar published in the university’s Official Bulletin, Volume XXXV, No. 86, dated Friday, October 9, 2026, medicals and screening for fresh students will commence on Monday, October 26.
The institution stated that orientation for fresh students would hold from Wednesday, November 4, to Friday, November 6, while matriculation is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026.
Old students are expected to return to campus on Sunday, November 8, while registration of courses and lectures for all students will begin on Monday, November 9.
The university stated that registration of courses would close on Friday, December 4, with late registration, subject to penalty fees, scheduled for Monday, December 7, to Friday, December 11.
The last day for course addition, modification and deletion is Monday, December 14, 2026, while the deadline for temporary withdrawal or deferment of studies is Friday, January 8, u2027.
The first semester lecture period will end on Friday, February 12, 2027, while the deadline for submission of Continuous Assessment (CA) scores to the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) is Friday, February 5.
Revision will take place from Monday, February 15, to Friday, February 19, while first semester examinations will commence on Monday, February 22, and end on Friday, March 12, 2027.
The first semester break is scheduled for Monday, March 15, to Friday, March 26, 2027.
For the second semester, all students are expected to return to campus on Sunday, March 28, while lectures will begin on Monday, March 29.
The Senate is scheduled to consider first semester results on Wednesday, April 14, 2027.
The second semester lecture period will end on Friday, July 2, following the final week of lectures scheduled for Monday, June 28, to Friday, July 2.
Second semester examinations will begin on Monday, July 5, and end on Friday, July 23, 2027, when the 12-week second semester break will also commence.
The Senate is expected to consider second semester results on Wednesday, September 8, 2027, while the break will end on Sunday, October 17.
The university has scheduled the commencement of the first semester of the 2027/2028 academic session for Monday, October 18, 2027.
The academic calendar was issued by the Public Relations Unit of the Directorate of Ceremonials, Information and Public Relations, Office of the Vice-Chancellor.
