The newly Inaugurated Chairman of Ugboroke Development Committee (UDC), Pastor Simon Peters Ejumi, has appealed to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for establishment of a government secondary school in the ancient Uvwie community of Ugboroke in Uvwie Local Government Area.

Ejumi made the appeal in a media interaction with our correspondent at his residence in the community on Monday, 19th October, 2026.

Ejumi who noted that the primary school in the community is nothing to write home about, stated that having a government secondary school in the community has been an age long desire of the people of the community.

“All the secondary schools in our community are owned by private individuals.

“Ugboroke is perhaps the only community in Uvwie Kingdom that does not have a government secondary school. So we shall be very grateful to His Excellency, Rt Hon Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, if he can grant us our age long desire of having a government secondary school in the community,” he added.

Ejumi also listed having a community hall as another desire of the people of Ugboroke.

He had earlier praised Governor Oborevwori for the construction of gutters in the community and other laudable achievements in Uvwie Local Government Area and across Delta State.

He rounded up the media chat, saying that “Ugboroke Community wants to be accounted among the achievements of our hard working and listening governor with the establishment of a government secondary school and provision of a befitting community hall.”
