As the 2019 general elections is fast approaching, a governorship candidate under the platform of Action Democratic Party (ADP), Comrade Frank Ufuoma Esanubi, has declared his intention before his kinsmen in Aghalokpe to vie for the position of Governor of Delta State.
Declaring his intention to a mammoth crowd at Aghalokpe at the weekend, Esanubi said his intention to contest for the revered position was to enable him change the story of Delta State, adding that his success story would not be complete if it is not on record that he is from Aghalokpe.
He said : “My fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters, the change we will bring will commence from Aghalokpe community and there is no way you will develop everywhere without starting from your community because as the popular the saying goes, charity begins at home.
“So all I require from you is your prayers because it is sufficient to carry me through. I need not ask for your support because I already know I have your support as nobody would throw his own child away. I have come here today to offer myself in service to my community and state at large and I need you just as human beings need air to survive.”
Also speaking, the President-General of Aghalokpe community, Dr. David Ejenobo, who received him on behalf of the community, assured him that the community was solidly behind his governorship aspiration, adding that he is now an ambassador of the community, hence there was need for him to go out and make the community proud.
He urged him to continue to be of good behavior wherever he found himself, saying that forthwith he is no longer going out as Frank Ufuoma alone but with the backing of the entire community.
Dr. Ejenobo continued: “You are the one representing us, so you must begin your campaign from here. In the next two weeks, you and your team should open your campaign office here in Aghalokpe because your identity as an individual is in your root.”
Speaking on behalf of the supporters, Comrade Okiemute Oghenekevwe, said that they left their former parties because it lacked leadership, stressing that they decided to follow Frank because they believed in his ideology and were ready to share in his dreams.
