Abia 2024: Team Delta Secures Spot In Male Single And Male Double Finals

Team Delta has emerged victorious, qualifying for both the male single and male double finals in the World Teqball Championship Qualifiers, tagged Abia 2024.
Nigeria’s top-ranked player, Victor Oyemade, and his partner Andrew Ikoko, have proudly flown the Delta state flag high, showcasing their exceptional skills and determination.
In an exclusive interview with our correspondent, Ogo Clarkson, Victor Oyemade shared his thoughts on the journey to the final stage.

“It wasn’t an easy feat, but our determination, focus, and experience have brought us this far. I’m impressed with the challenges posed by my opponents, which indicates that teqball is gaining popularity in Nigeria.”
Oyemade expressed his team’s target: “We aim to make Delta state proud and secure a spot in the world championship in the United States of America.”
The highly anticipated final is scheduled for Saturday, July 13th, at the Aba Sports Club, where Team Delta will face off against Team Abia, comprising Nigeria’s rank two player, Funsho Samson, and his partner Khalid Akorede. Samson had previously defeated Oyemade at the Ughelli Tournament, setting the stage for an thrilling rematch.
