2019: We Await The Final Results To Know If The Election Was Free And Fair- Unuagba

A Peoples Democratic Partry, PDP, chieftain In Delta State, Chief Ochuko Unuagba, has described the Presidential and National Assembly elections that took place today as very peaceful, adding that the final results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, will determine if the said elections were free and fair.

Chief Unuagba spoke to journalists in Eku after casting his vote during the exercise.

While praying that the governorship election scheduled to take place on the 9th of March be conducted also under a peaceful atmosphere just like it happened today, he hoped that results are not written like what obtained in the past.

He opined that the peaceful disposition of voters in Nigeria and particularly Ethiope East Local Government Area today was not a result of the shoot-at-sight of ballot box snatchers order by the president, saying that Nigerians have decided to do things differently.

He said: “Nigeria has gone beyond the era of threats. Without the order by the president, Nigerians will have still behaved themselves orderly today.”

Furthermore, he opined that the card reader has not met its purpose, but rather a way of siphoning money by the organizers of elections in Nigeria.

Continuing, he expressed optimism that the gubernatorial candidate of his party, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa will emerge victorious in the forthcoming polls due to the impact of his administration since inception.
