Says Okowa Does Not Love Education

The Youth and Students Alliance for Ogboru, YASAFO, a socio-political pressure group with members from the fourteen tetiary institutions in Delta state, has restated her support for all APC candidates in the forthcoming general election.
While speaking at the APC Gubernatorial campaign yesterday in Ndokwa/Ethiope East Local Government Areas through its Public Relations Officer, Prince Comr. Ukuanovwe Godstime, the group lampooned Okowa, saying no well- meaning Deltan and lover of education would support the second term bid of the governor whom they described as an enemy of education/students, as they adviced all Nigerian students schooling in Delta state to support Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru’s candidature for a better and more robust reform in the educational sector.
While addressing newsmen, Comr. Igbuku Christian Mamus, Convener and Prince Ukuanovwe, highlighted governor Okowa’s many sins as an enemy of education.
The group’s grievances include: stopage of first class scholarship for first class graduates within the state, stopage of free WAEC registration for all indigent Delta students, the now infamous failed introduction of tuition fee for all tetiary institutions across the state and refusal to make schools have a conducive environment for academic activities to thrive.
The group through its Coordinator, Delta Central, Comr. Anidi Samuel, also lamented the poor budget for education in the state and also went further to say that in a country where other state govrrnments are been innovative and students and youths friendly, the Delta State government led by Sen Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa has no other thing to do than to setup Delta state lotto which does not top the priority and needs of Deltans at this point in time.
He said: “Is he trying to turn all Delta youths to gamblers? It is so disheartening to see the way the Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa- led government has introduced money politics to the state and went as far as given selected few students greek gifts all in the name of bursary, prior to the closeup of elections thereby using it in stiff connivance with his handlers to promote a failed ‘prosperity for all Deltans’ which is truly ‘prosperity for few Deltans.’
“Without doubts, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru whom we have thrown our support behind today is an household name in Delta state nay Nigeria and has wide business acumen.
“His profile is quite intimidating being someone who came into global business limelight at age 25. We believe in his capacity to transform the state to the Delta of our dream, hence we are drumming full support for him.”
They urged all students, parents and all lovers of quality education to come out enmasse to give their votes to Ogboru for a greater Delta.
“His likes are the people we need to drive home a more robust and productive Delta state of our dreams,” he added.
