Delta based All Progressives Congress pro President Muhammadu Buhari group, Buhari Movement for Change, BMC, has accused the Managing Director of Ocean Marine Solutions, Capt. Idahosa Okunbo, of working against the re-election of President Buhari “despite handling the pipeline surveillance contract, awarded by the Buhari administration.”
Secretary of BMC, Erefoluwa Keka, who made the allegation at Ajudaibo in Escravos, Warri South-West Local Government Area, Wednesday, February 20, 2019, during a door-to-door campaign for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buahri and other APC Candidates by members of Buhari Movement for Change, alleged,”credible evidence based on our findings in the coastal communities of Warri South -West, Warri North and Warri South Local Government Areas in the course of our campaigns and investigation, revealed that Capt. Okunbo was working with PDP leaders in Delta State to mobilize votes for PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and other PDP candidates in the February 23 as well as March 9 elections.
“In-fact, most of our people, particularly APC supporters in Warri South-West and Warri North Local Government Areas, corroborated our suspicion on moves by Captain Okunbo to work against Mr. President’s re-election in the three Warri Local Government Areas, which traditionally determines the direction of election victories in Delta State, apart from his purported refusal to engage them (the indigenes) in the pipeline surveillance contract, because of his preference for imported PDP loyalists”.
The group which enjoined the National leadership of APC to “watch out for the likes of Ocean Marine Solutions Boss and other business owners who are beneficiaries of the Buhari administration, yet working against the President’s re-election,” admonished Deltans to” vote en masse for President Buhari, come Saturday February 23″.
While mentioning the just concluded dredging of Escravos Bar/ Warri River, land reclamation projects through NDDC in Warri riverine communities, continuation of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, the Itakpe- Aladja Rail line, N-Power programme, school feeding programme and Trader Moni as some “direct impact of the Buhari administration on Niger Deltans,” BMC enjoined the electorates to vote for other APC Candidates such as Chief Great Ogboru, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and Mr. Alex Eyengho.
