Every Family In Ukwuani LGA Has A PDP Member— Osakunih Izuegbu
By Daniel Dafe
The immediate past Chairman, Ukwuani Local Government Area in Delta State, and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, Hon. Barr. Benedicta Osakunih Izuegbu, has said that her party would deliver every candidate contesting elections at all levels in the state, adding that every family in the council area has a PDP member.
Izuegbu spoke to journalists in Obiaruku during the Presidential/National Assembly polls recently.
While calling on the electorates to come out and vote during the 2019 guber and House of Assembly elections, she opined that her party is a grassrooted party, adding that “the leaders and candidates of PDP are always on ground from January to December, unlike other parties that have candidates that fly in from Lagos during elections.”
“How do they expect to win in this council area,” she quizzed.
Speaking about the conduct of the 2019 Presidential/National Assembly polls, she opined that “initially there was this voter apathy taking place but they are beginning to turn out.”
She said: “I guess it is this fear that was created in them. As you can see the APC candidate for the Delta State House of Assembly election is trying to cause trouble, but the police are trying to handle it.
“The turnout is not too encouraging. We have a capacity of over 10, 000 voters in this unit. I hope before the election ends others would show up.”
