Phenomenal John Obukohwo Nani: The Man And His Deeds In Times Like This

The Executive Director of Finance and Administration in the board of DESOPADEC *Chief Barr. John Obukowho Nani*, has constantly and endlessly personified ideal leadership needed for societal transformation through his humane attitude and unrivalled performances in the numerous leadership responsibilities he has been saddled with. He has distinguished himself from other leaders via his good deeds, people-oriented policies and programmes.

Honestly, his style of leadership is a cynosure to co-leaders and upcoming ones. He is an ardent practitioner of Mac Gregor’s Y theory of accomplishing tasks without conflict. He seeks for people’s opinion and makes everybody have a sense of belonging in reaching a goal. Furthermore, he makes the interest of the people his priority, which by all standard replicates the ideal meaning of democracy. This is manifested in his selflessness in multifaceted dimension. There is no gainsaying the fact that Hon. John Obukohwo Nani is a true definition of revolutionary democratic leadership.

Looking at his antecedence, beginning from when he was Idjerhe Youth President General till date, one will need no soothsayer to attest to his ennobling and ingenuous personality. Reasons being that his achievement and testaments of result-oriented leadership are boldly crested on the sand of history and more specifically, the heart of men. He stands out in many ways and his achievements are yet to be outweighed.

Frankly speaking, he has made the *Idjerhe kingdom* proud in different capacity in time past and even now, by proving himself as a dependable leader. A vivid exemplification of his rare disposition in his recent time, is the reach out to his people during the lockdown due to the #COVID-19 pandemic. He gave out palliatives in equal manner to the 32 villages that constitute Idjerhe kingdom to cushion the effect of the stay at home directive of Governor Okowa.

Some critics will say, is he not a politician? The answer is yes. But how many privileged politicians, serving and out of service, in his level, has displayed such gestures. Truthfully, they are rare! No doubt, Hon. John Obukohwo Nani has proven himself worthy of emulation and celebration, specifically, among his kith and kin. He is not the type that uses the masses money to enrich himself and leave the public in a state of comatose.

However, his good-hearted gesture to humanity has spoken volume of him in different capacities in Ethiope West and Delta State at large.Through his outstanding dedication and commitments to the development of human capital and infrastructure, in his capacity as an erstwhile Commissioner for Environment and now, EDFA, DESOPADEC, he has established himself in the hall of fame in Idjerhe kingdom and Delta state in general.

Unarguably, with the likes of Chief John O. Nani at the corridor of governance in Delta State and Idjerhe Kingdom, a progressive and stronger Delta is certain!
