Ethiope East 2021: I Have Enjoyed Overwhelming Support Since I Joined The Race– Chief Jessa

A frontline aspirant in the race for the Chairmanship seat in Ethiope East Local Government Area in Delta State, come 2021, Chief Harrison Jessa, has expressed optimism that he will clinch the ticket of his party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, saying that he has enjoyed overwhelming support since he joined the race.
Chief Jessa said this while responding to questions from journalists in Abraka recently.
Chief Jessa who heads several businesses in and beyond Abraka community, added that the race looks tough but he is certain that victory is sure, adding that his confidence was hinged on the silent endorsements he has so far gotten.
His words: “Before now, I played politics at the background. I have backed candidates in time past and even supported an aspirant for a seat at the Green Chambers and he won. I am a faithful and loyal party man and very committed to the growth of the PDP.
“This time around, I said rather than just help people go there, it is good to desire to serve my people in the capacity of a local government chairman.
“Truth is, I am going there to serve and if I am given a chance, the local government will experience some level of development.”
He continued: “I understand what servant-leadership is and I will provide that if the people give me the opportunity to serve them.
“I hope to instead of promoting division, unite residents in the local government area so that at the end of the day even though we have the distinction of Agbon and Abraka, we will be a united people and have every resident and citizen mobilised towards achieving greatness in the area and also have their voices heard.
“Ethiope East is one local government area in the state that stands out. We have a university, have great intellectuals and farmers. We have all it takes to make Ethiope East the pride of Delta State.”
He appealed to party leaders and officials to support his ambition, noting that it will be fair that Abraka gets a shot at heading the local government area this time around.
“My party believes in equity, fairness and transparency. I have confidence in my leaders that they will do the needful and support an Abraka indigene to emerge the party’s candidate for the contest next year.”
Meanwhile, he called on students of the Delta State University to take advantage of the COVID-19 holidays to better themselves by investing in their personality and using their time wisely, stressing that the period is not a time to be idle, but engage themselves in worthy ventures but not violating the guidelines issued by the state government in curbing the spread of the disease.
