The daughter of Late Hon. Joyce Overah, Devenye has expressed fears over the continuation of her education,as she appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to support her in continuing with her university education.
Recall that Joyce Overah died I’ve a month ago. He was the Commissioner representing Sapele, Ethiope West and Okpe Local Government Areas on the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOOADEC).
He was a staunch member of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).
Devenye Joyce Overah, a 200level student of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, studying Medical Laboratory Science, expressed fears why she may drop out of school.
Devenye while speaking to newsmen during an interview said that her father was her everything until his death.
In her words; “I am so pained knowing very well that my dad is gone forever, I am even more affected by the thought that I may have to stop my education, because my late father was solely responsible for my education like paying for my school fees, educational text books, accommodation, pocket money and every other thing that I needed to facilitate my education.
“It was his dream to see me graduate from the University. But, I don’t know if I will be able to accomplish that dream, because I may be financially incapacitated.
“I am appealing to Senator Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa to assist me with a scholarship to enable me complete my education.
“It was my father’s dream to see me graduate. I pray that God will send me assistance to enable me graduate and accomplish what my father started.”
