Delta: DG Orientation Bureau, Uzum Recovers From COVID-19

The Director General, State Orientation Bureau, Delta State, Barr Eugene Uzum, has fully recovered from the dreaded Coronavirus after he tested positive some weeks ago.
In a social media post, where he announced the development, he said: “Greetings. I just received my second test result on Covid-19. I am now negative and well.”
He added: “Many thanks for your calls, support and prayers. My prayers to all others still standing positive, that God extends his healing balm on them. God alone be praised. Amen.”
Speaking to Oasis Magazine (OM) during a phone conversation, he urged Deltans to desist from saying that COVID-19 is a scam.
He continued: “My family is in Canada. I live alone with my cook in Asaba who I had to send away when I tested positive. Though it was not terrible for me like those that have it and are elderly or have underlying ailments; I just had mild symptoms.
“I have been out of circulation for two weeks. I will be resuming work tomorrow and that is the spirit of commitment because the mandate that Deltans gave to Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa as Governor is of importance to us and I am glad that I was brought in to contribute my own quota.
“So, orientation continues tomorrow from where we stopped even though I was working from home. You know, I am a younger person.
“Now, I am giving myself as a specimen and a survivor to some Deltans that are yet to believe that COVID-19 is real. I was there and I saw what the disease is about.”
“Those that reside in Warri South West, Warri South, Uvwie, Udu, Ughelli North, Ughelli South, Sapele, Oshimilli South, Oshimilli North local government areas in the state must be extra careful because those are the areas that have high cases of the disease at the moment.
“Media and religious leaders must join us in this sensitization campaign. It breaks my heart when some religious leaders say that COVID-19 is a scam and just an avenue for politicians to make money.
“These are supposed to be opinion molders. They can go to the Ministry of Information, go online for updates or even come to the Orientation Bureau to know the latest about the disease in the state rather than concluding that it is a scam.
“Those opinion leaders saying it is not real don’t congregate with their flocks. They eat well and have money to buy drugs and also boost their immune system,” he added.
He called on Deltans “to abide to the COVID-19 guidelines, stay in a clean and safe environment and stay away from information that tends to make them vulnerable, believing that COVID-19 is not real.”
