Ethiope West: Hon Onosa Declares Intention To Run For Chairman, Visits Nani

A former leader of the legislative arm of Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon Simon Onosa Onosa, on Wednesday, August 12th, 2020, declared his intention to vie for the Chairmanship seat in the council.
Rt. Hon. Simon Onosa Onosa, made his intention known to leaders of the party in the local government area when he hosted them at the country home of the Executive Director of Finance and Administration DESOPADEC, Chief Barr. John Nani.
Rt Hon. Simon Onosa Onosa, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Security Matters reiterated that he decided to contest for the position of the chairman because he wants to touch lives through his three point agenda that touches on security, employment and agricultural development, as he said the problem of Fulani herdsmen and the issue of rape of farmers will become history once he emerges as chairman of the council.
The Chairmanship hopeful further said that he will create more job opportunities for youths in the local government through his skills acquisition program by following in the foot steps of Senator Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa which is aimed at ensuring prosperity for all Deltans.
Speaking further, he said that he would give boost to the agricultural sector as it is a means of ensuring that the good people of Ethiope West Local Government Area do not face the problem of food shortage in the locality, adding that he will ensure that all facilities that will facilitate and boost agricultural production is made available to the people.
When asked if he has the needed experience to run a local government council, Hon. Simon Onosa Onosa said that he will bring in his wealth of experience garnered as Supervisor of Works and as well as a former Councillor to bear in administering the Council, as he noted that he has been in the system and had been having contact with the people.

“I understand their plight and I know their pains, and I can assure the good people of Ethiope West, that all their challenges will become a thing of the past once I am given the mandate to represent them. All I need is their support and prayers and together we shall make the difference, by creating an harmonious environment for all residents” he added.
He further praised Chief James Onanefe Ibori for bringing immense development to Ethiope West Local Government Area, while also noting that Chief Barr John Nani has completely transformed the Idjerhe kingdom into a mega city, adding that he will follow in the footsteps of his leaders to ensure that development continues in the local government area.
Chief Barr John Nani in his response described Onosa as a die-hard party faithful of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, while urging the people to support him and stick to a candidate of their choice.
He also implored them to shun violence and embrace whosoever that emerges at the end of the primaries.
According to Chief Nani, “everyone cannot win; only one candidate will emerge and when the time comes, everyone should be ready to work with the winner and not bear grudges,” he stated.
