The Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), Youthwing, Worldwide ably led by Comrade Efemena Umukoro, has congratulated former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, on the occasion of his 62nd birthday.
Ibori clocked 62 yesterday.
In a statement, the umbrella body for all Urhobo youths worldwide extolled Chief Ibori for his contributions to the development of Delta State, saying that despite the fact he has left power many years ago as Governor of the state, his blueprints are still seen everywhere in the state and he remains a celebrated figure in the scheme of things in the oil-rich state.
The statement added: “As you celebrate, your immense contributions to the development of Delta and outstanding input to nation-building comes to mind.”

According to the statement, Ibori’s deep knowledge of politics and his administrative acumen put him ahead of his contemporaries, and stood him out as a worthy and legendary leader of all time.
Furthermore, the Urhobo group commended Ibori for championing the fight for Resource Control, adding that this move resulted in the establishment of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) by the Federal Government as an interventionist agency for the development of oil-producing communities.
They prayed for many more fruitful years to come as God grants him long life, good health and wisdom to keep navigating in Nigeria’s political and business space.
