Your Life Is A Legacy Of Courage And Service, Omo-Agege Tells Ibori

Deputy President of the 9th Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, CFR, has described Chief James Ibori, first governor of Delta State in the Fourth Republic, as a man who through purposeful leadership confronted injustice in the Niger Delta and stood firm in defense of Delta State.

In a goodwill message to Chief Ibori on his 68th birthday, Senator Omo-Agege credited him with laying the “foundation for the infrastructure, education, and human capital development that we continue to build upon in our state today”.

In the message he personally signed, Omo-Agege who is the Obarisi of Urhoboland stated:
“Today, I join millions of Deltans and well-wishers across Nigeria to celebrate my leader, His Excellency, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, on the occasion of his 68th birthday.

“Chief Ibori remains a name that commands respect across Delta State and beyond. As Governor, he provided purposeful leadership. He stood firm in defense of Delta and the Niger Delta. He confronted injustice. And he laid the foundation for the infrastructure, education, and human capital development that we continue to build upon in our state today.

“Beyond his years in office, Chief Ibori has continued to serve as a father and mentor to many of us in politics. Leaders across party lines still seek his counsel. His dedication to the unity, peace and progress of our people remains a guiding light for those of us in public service.
