Okowa Salutes Ovie Of Agbon At 70
Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has congratulated the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom, Ogurime-rime Ukori I, Michael Omeru, as he clocks 70 tomorrow, Tuesday.
He saluted the traditional ruler for his exemplary contributions to the growth and development of Agbon Kingdom and Delta State in general.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, in Asaba, today, Okowa described the respected monarch as “a symbol of peace, stability and development” of his people of Agbon Kingdom and Deltans in general.
According to him, Ukori I remains not only a shining light and custodian of the culture and traditions of Agbon people, he is also a revered monarch whose wise counsel to governments remain invaluable and enduring.
The governor urged the monarch not to waver in his belief in the peace and unity of his fatherland, but to do all within his power to ensure that his domain continued to be a model for peace to other kingdoms.

“Your majesty, you have remained a symbol of humility and contributing immensely toward the attainment of a Stronger Delta by our administration.
“Under your reign, the Agbon kingdom has prospered with incredible infrastructural transformation and continuous peace to the kingdom.
“I urge you to remain committed to the unity of our state, and continue to do all within your power to ensure that your domain continues to enjoy greater peace.
“As a renowned businessman and construction giant, you have continued to play active roles in our Stronger Delta vision and we are grateful for your kind support always.
“Your reign has immensely benefited the people of Agbon Kingdom, Delta and indeed the nation.
“Worthy of commendation is Your Majesty’s efforts in tackling issues of development, unemployment and value-orientation among youths of Agbon kingdom and Urhobo nation in general.
“Of remarkable note is your royal carriage which is visible in the exemplary manner you have discharged your duties and has remained a source of pride and splendour to the traditional Institution,” he said.
The governor, on behalf of his family, the government and people of Delta, congratulates “Your Royal Majesty, Ogurime-rime Ukori I, Michael Omeru, the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom, on the occasion of your 70th birth anniversary.
“We pray that the Almighty God will continue to give you good health and wisdom to pilot the traditional affairs of your kingdom and offer valuable contributions to the development of our dear state.”
