Sapele Area Command: PCRC Performs Investiture Of Patrons, Patronesses, Presents Awards To Igbakpa, 40 Others

Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Sapele Area Command, has performed investiture of 20 patrons and two patronesses for the body.

The occasion took place at Richards Continental Hotel, Sapele and was chaired by the National Vice Chairman, PCRC, South-South, Deacon Kenneth Otununyo.

During the said ceremony, awards of excellence were also presented to forty-one individuals in recognition of their immense support to PCRC.

The Area Commander, ACP Sani Nufawa and the eight Divisional Police Officers under his jurisdiction were also present at the programme.

Speaking during the occasion, Deacon Otununyo, said he was impressed with the achievements of the executive and members of PCRC in the Command.

Furthermore, he urged everyone present to join hands with the police and other security agencies to secure the area, saying that security is everyone’s business.

On his part, ACP Nufawa said he has been to several places as a police officer but has never seen an organized PCRC like the one in Sapele Area Command, adding that they are also the best of the eight Area Commands in Delta.

He assured them of his continuous support whenever the need arises.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Chairman of PCRC in the area, Comrade Oliver Eyefia, said the program was an epoch making event and the first of its kind in the history of the body.

Continuing, he said the decision to have patrons was to seek more support from those that have stood with them overtime, adding that the awardees were also carefully picked for the support given to them during their over two-year tenure as PCRC leaders.
Eyefia commended Sapele Okpe community for playing host to the body and helping them build a modern complex office that they hope will be completed soon.

Furthermore, he also thanked Seplat Petroleum Development Company for their consistent support in form of social cooperate responsibility to PCRC and their communities of operations.

Also, in his remarks, the Chairman of PCRC in the state, Ambassador Marshall Prosper said he is delighted to see a well organized and trusted PCRC in Sapele Area Command.

He urged the leaders not to relent in their efforts of complementing the efforts of the police in securing the area.

Highpoints of the program was the investiture of patrons and the presentation of awards to the recipients.

The list of patrons and patronesses include the Commissioner for Environment, Delta State, Hon. Christian Onogba, Engr. Iwhiwhu Oboba, Captain Godwin Igbinovia, Prince Daykins Amatajuwa and Prince Asiwaju Aladeniyi.

Amongst those that bagged the PCRC award include Member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ben Igbakpa, CEO, Richard Continental, Sapele, Mr. Roland Okotie, ACP Nufawa, Commissioner for Urban Renewal, Delta State, Olorogun Arthur Akpowowo, Deacon Otununyo, Chief (Amb) Dr. Odet Odjuvwumiderhi (JP) and Amb. Ojoh.

Seplat Petroleum Development Company and Sapele Okpe Community were also recognized and honoured at the event.

The Local government area chairmen of Sapele, Ethiope East, Ethiope West and Okpe were also recipients of the award.
