UPDATED: Ikeogwu Defeats Oyovwe With Five Votes To Return As Delta NUJ Chairman (See Full Exco List)

Mike Ikeogwu has been returned for a second term as Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalist in Delta State.
In a keenly contested election, the Redemption team candidate defeated Churchill Oyovwe with five votes to return as Chairman of the union for the next three years.
Over 400 journalists voted during the said election.

Churchill, who depended on his colleagues in the Ministry of Information to deliver him, narrowly lost to Ikeogwu.
Churchill served under Ikeogwu as Secretary in the last adminstration and was the Prize Team candidate in the just concluded election.
Meanwhile, Ikeogwu and others that emerged winners have been sworn-in.
Other members of the new executive are:
Comrade Salvation Ogono- Vice Chairman
Comrade Patrick Ochei- Secretary
Comrade Felix Ekwu- Assistant Secretary
Comrade Afokobah Celestine- Auditor
While Patrick Ochei ran on the platform of the Prize Team, the others were of the Redemption Team.
Present at the swearing in was the Honourable Commissioner of Information, Delta State, Mr Charles Aniagwu and some executive members of the National lesdership.
