COVID-19: 90-Year-Old Grandma Becomes First To Get Vaccine

A British 90-year-old grandma, Margaret Keenan is the world’s first person to get a BionTech-Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine outside of trial.

Britain on Tuesday kicked off its first COVID-19 vaccination program to people over 80 years of age, frontline health’s and social care workers.

Studies in November say the vaccine is 95% effective and works for all age groups.

Margaret Keenan who turns 91 next week received the vaccine at University Hospital Coventry at 6:31 a.m. UTC said that she feels “so privileged to be the first person vaccinated against COVID-19.”

“It’s the best early birthday present I could wish for because it means I can finally look forward to spending time with my family and friends in the New Year after being on my own for most of the year.”

Britain is the European country with most COVID-19 casualty with over 61,000 deaths.
