LGA Polls: More Trouble For Delta APC, As Egbo Asks Loyalists Not To Participate Despite Free Forms For Aspirants
By Daniel Dafe
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, has asked his loyalists and supporters not to participate in the forthcoming council elections in the state, urging intending aspirants not to run for any position in the March 6 council elections despite that forms for aspirants were made free by the party.
Reacting to the announcement by the Jones Orue-led Caretaker Committee in the state that aspirants are to pick up their forms without paying for them, Egbo in a statement, said: “I am sure we all agreed how a strong man destroyed APC Delta. Let wind back to 2016, APC was the party of choice in Delta
In Ughelli North; we had more than 7 aspirants with billboards, posters and branded vehicles.”
Adding: “In each of the 20 States wards, there were between 5 to 8 aspirants struggling to get the tickets. You can hear the war cry…APC take over Delta everywhere.”
According to him, “today a rapacious emperor seized the party structure via a fraudulent consent judgment and the rest is now history.”

Speaking further, he said that “APC Hivoltage Movement and her affiliates stand by the earlier decision NOT TO PARTICIPATE in any activity of the party including but not limited to the LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTION overseen by the failed State Exco/ interim caretaker.”
“We have also concluded arrangements to mobilize fully for the party membership revalidation/registration by mounting a statewide road show across the 3 senatorial districts with free fuel to our party base,” he said, as he urged party members to “be vigilant.”
