We Don’t Recognise Obiaruku Unit, Says CDHR

Following the purported inauguration of Obiaruku unit of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights on the 26th of December, 2020, by some persons bent on tearing the body apart, the Delta State branch of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights has disassociated itself from such purported inauguration.

Adding that such decision did not emanate from the central body and therefore the unit is null and void.

In a press release duely signed by the Delta State Secretary of the body, Comrade Jonathan Giama and made available to newsmen in Warri, Delta State, said the Branch Coordinator Council (BCC) of the body has not empowered anybody whatsoever to inaugurate any unit of the body anywhere across the state just as he said the transition committee headed by Barr. Godwin Umuko which was single-handedly set up by National President of the body, Dr. Obayuwana Osagie is illegal and unconstitutional and strange to the Constitution of the Committee for Defence of Human Rights.

The release reads in part: “The Branch Coordinator Council (BCC) has not empowered anybody whatsoever to inaugurate any unit of CDHR anywhere across the state.”

The body said the general public and other members of the CDHR at all levels should disregard Obiaruku unit of the body which was purportedly inaugurated and its Coordinator is Whyte Onyensue Lucky.

The statement advised the general public to disregard Obiaruku Unit whose Coodinator is Mr Whyte Onyensue Lucky.
