UNIBEN Honours Mrakpor, Five Other Senior Advocates Of Nigeria

The authorities of the University of Benin, Edo State, have honoured the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Delta State, Mr Peter Adogbejire Mrakpor (SAN) FCArb, FICMC, FCISM and five other Nigerians for being a flagship of their institution by distinguishing themselves in the legal profession.
Others who were honoured by the institution alongside Delta State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in a special luncheon at the indoor sports Hall of the University are, Chief (Dr) Richard Oma Ahonaruogho, (SAN), Mr Adedapo Osariuyime Tunde -Olowu (SAN),Mr Lotanna Chuka Okoli SAN ,Mr Nureini Soladoye Jimoh (SAN), and Mr Yusuf Asamah Kadiri (SAN).
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Professor Lillian I. Salami, who delivered a speech at the epoch making event, commended those honoured by the University for being worthy ambassadors and allumini of the institution.

She told those honoured that, “Your preferment into the silk class in the legal profession is a testament of your diligent, excellence and commitment to your profession.”
“It is also an attestation to the solid foundation laid by the university of Benin as well as the patriotic zeal with which you have contributed your quota to the development of the country, “she added.
Professor Salami said as she prayed further to the honourarees “your alma- mater is proud of you. May God continue to grant you wisdom, divine health and more grace as you discharge your duties to your fatherland.”
The Chairman of the event, Chief Charles Uwensuyi-Edosomwan SAN, the Obasuyi of Benin Kingdom, first SAN from UNIBEN and former Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice Edo State, including Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN, the Honourable Minister of Works and Housing, second university of Benin SAN, and former Lagos State Governor who delivered a keynote address at the event in their separate speeches at the event, identified, hard work, integrity commitment, dedication to duty as well as values of honour as the prerequisite for the honour accorded the six UNUBEN alumini.
The Minister of Works while praying to Almighty God to keep the recipients in Good health during his keynote address, charged them to continue their good works for humanity so that our society would move forward and continue to be a better place for us all.
The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Delta State, Mr Peter Adogbejire Mrakpor, SAN, who fielded questions from journalists during the event, commended the institution for the great honour accorded him and others.
The Commissioner said, “this honour is unbelievable that the University will decide to honour us. This is the first time they are honouring senior advocates when conferred who are alumini of this institution. It is very commendable and heartwarming. I thank God that I am one of those who are being honoured today.”
” It is very good to rejoice with those who attained great height. It is a thing of joy that when people rejoice, we rejoice with them. Hard work, integrity are virtues that make the society what it is as a society,” he concluded.
Highpoints of the event was a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor of the University by all the honourarees, a visit to the law faculty where they were received by the Faculty Dean, Professor (Mrs Violet O. Aigbokhaevbo and a special luncheon party at the indoor sports Hall of the University.
