Ethiope East: PDP Shot Themselves On The Foot With Choice Of Ogedegbe As Chairmanship Candidate –APC Member
By Daniel Dafe, Abraka
A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ethiope East Local Government Area,
Glory Papaglo Igho, has said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) made a terrible error with the choice of Augustine Ogedegbe as the party’s chairmanship candidate for the March 6 council elections in Delta State.
In a piece titled: ‘PDP SHOT THEMSELVES ON THE FOOT: AS APC’S POISE TO TAKE ETHIOPE EAST COUNCIL WITH EASE,’ he alleged that Hon. Augustine Ogedegbe “has dual voter’s registration, having formally, duely and legally registered as a voter in Okpe and Ethiope East Local Government Areas respectively.”
Adding: “Dual registration is illegal and he stands disqualified to contest the LGA chairmanship poll come March 6.
“This is a cause of celebration among APC faithful who sees the March 6 polls as a mere work over.”

Papaglo noted that “the DSIEC window for the substitution of candidates/withdrawal has elapsed which as slated on DSIEC guideline for the March 6 poll was on January 20, 2021.”
He continued: “By implication, PDP will face an uphill task if they try to substitute another candidate where the window is shut already.
“The All Progressive Congress (APC) is set to take over Ethiope East LGA with ease.”
Attempts to speak with Ogedegbe at the time of filing this report proved abortive as his phone was switched off.
Meanwhile a yet-to-be verified information said that a court has ruled against Ogedegbe’s candidature, saying that he registered as a voter in Ethiope East and Okpe LGA.
