Niger: Nursing Mother Escapes Kidnap Attempt
A nursing mother and her baby have escaped a kidnap attempt by gunmen in Yakila axis of Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.
The woman was among the passengers of the State Transport Authority who were kidnapped by gunmen between Tegina-Zungeru road.

Reliable sources told AIT that the passengers who boarded the State Transport Authority vehicle were on their way back from a ceremony in Kagara, headquarters of Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.
AIT also gathered that the Chief of Staff to Niger State Governor Ibrahim Balarabe had escaped being kidnapped by the gunmen.
Ibrahim Balarabe was said to have passed Kundu village shortly after the gunmen stopped and abducted the passengers.
