Ukwuani LGA Chair Charges Civil Servants To Embrace Punctuality, Diligence, Descent Dressing
Chairman, Ukwuani Local Government, Hon.Barr. Solomon Ajede Possible has called on civil servants to embrace punctuality to work, diligence to duties and decent dressing.
Hon.Barr.Ajede who made the call at a meeting with the staff in the council courtyard, thanked the staff that exercised their franchise that led to his victory in the poll.
He also appreciated the management and the leadership of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) for their contribution to see that Ukwuani is rated high.
He advised staff to always come to work on time daily and stay on their duty post even as he stressed the need for diligence to work, adding that punctuality is the soul of business.
The council boss promised not to work as an umpire but operate an open door policy and see to workers welfare that his coming to council is to improve and not to make things difficult.

He enjoined the workers to be watchmen of the council and not watchdogs as such depositions would enhance the council’s growth, adding his administration is geared towards five (5) points agenda which are security, environmental sanitation, empowerment program for the people, primary health care and infrastructural development.
Responding, the Head of Personnel Management (HPM), Mr Akaeze Augustine, lauded the chairman for unveiling his people’s oriented programmes and noble intention to serve the Ukwuani people.
He appealed to the staff for change of attitude to work, saying this is a new era and lateness to work will not be tolerated, adding that they should channel whatever complaints they have to the appropriate quarters.
Also, NULGE Chairman, Comr Alonu Sylvester Chukwubueze, commended Hon Barr Ajede whom he described as a working chairman for deeming it fit to meet with the staff and assured the cooperation of the workers, adding that staff of the union in executive, legislature and management would work in synergy to achieve the common goals of the council.
