Delta PCRC Visits Igbakpa, As Lawmaker Promises To Support Body
By Daniel Dafe, Abraka
The Comrade Oliver Eyefia-led Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in Delta State, has paid a courtesy visit on the lawmaker representing Ethiope Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ben Igbakpa.
Accompanied by some members of his executive, Eyefia visited him at his country home in Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area of the state.
The visit, Oasis Magazine learnt, was to inform him of the success of the just concluded security workshop organized by the body in Asaba and seek his partnership and that of his colleagues in the National Assembly from Delta State in achieving their efforts to assist the police in securing the state.
Speaking, Eyefia added that their visit was to appreciate him on his performance so far, noting that the rehabilitation of the bridge linking Mosogar and Jesse was a security feat, saying that so many lives have been lost on that route through accidents, robberies and kidnappings.

”You are also attracting the Federal Medical Center which will tackle the health challenge in the area,” Eyefia said.
Continuing, Eyefia hinted that with the performance of Hon. Igbakpa so far, they have considered making him one of the patrons of PCRC in the state.
Meanwhile, Igbakpa assured the body of his support and promised to mobilise other federal lawmakers in the state to do same.
According to him, Eyefia has done well so far and would surely be made Chairman and not just acting as he is now.
He added: ”Security is a topical issue at the moment in Nigeria.
Speaking further, he said: ”If the executive had listened to lawmakers, the EndSARS protest would not have occurred. EndSARS is a setback to Nigeria even though it was meant to achieve positive results,” saying that the fact that there was no leader was a major minus to the movement.
He said: ”The hands of all Nigerians must be on deck if we must surmount our challenges now,” adding that Nigeria was at a cross-road at the moment.
He also accepted the offer to be a patron of the group as he thanked the executive for considering him for this honour.
