…Charges Officers Not To Fold Their Hands And Allow Hoodlums Attack Them

The Deputy Inspector General of Police (Department of Research and Planning) and Theatre Commander, Operation Restore Peace, South South Zone, DIG Moses Ambakina Jitoboh, has visited the Delta State Police Command to boost the morale of police officers in the state after several attacks left some dead with police facilities burnt down by hoodlums.

A statement by the Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, said the DIG was received to the area by the AIG Zone 5, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, Officers and men of the command.

The Police DIG who delivered an emotional and soul searching lecture to officers and men of the command, charged them to prevent further killing of police officers, burning of police stations and public properties in the state.

DIG Jitoboh said the slogan “NEVER AGAIN” will henceforth serve as a reminder to police officers in the state and beyond as a signal that the ugly trend will not be tolerated anymore.

DIG Jitoboh said the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has directed all DIGs of the various geopolitical zones to go round their zones and boost the morale of the men, saying this is the reason for the visit to the command.
He advised officers to be proactive and beware of their environment at all times.

Adding that never again should they fold their hands and allow miscreants to come and attack them.

He assured all that modalities have been put in place to ensure that the welfare of the police is improved, and that the IGP is determined to see that police officers in the country are motivated.

Meanwhile, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, seized the opportunity to extend the command’s profound gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Usman Baba, who deemed it necessary to deploy personnel to the command during the present predicament through operation restore peace, adding that the men deployed have in no small way added to the security architecture of the state.
