Efe Kigho Drags Akima To Court Over Alleged Threatening Violence, Defamation, Others

The President General of Oruarivie Youth Council (OYC), Worldwide, Efe Don Kigho, has dragged Comrade Efemena Umukoro (popularly known as Akima), to court over issues of defamation and threat to life.

Kigho, who spoke to Oasis Magazine on Wednesday disclosed this.

According to him, “Efemena Kelly Umukoro (Akima) was to be docked today for threatening violence, defamation and conduct likely to breach the peace of the community.”

He added: “Since yesterday, he has been making frantic efforts to prevent being held responsible for his actions and utterances and this morning when it was time for court, he switched off his phone and went underground, later the phone came on and he has been on the run.

“All efforts to reach him have proved abortive as he is at large. The case has been registered in the court and as it is now, it is left for the police to look for him and produce him in court to face his charges. If he is honorable or man enough he should come and clear himself that’s what men do. When there are issues, you face it as a man and not chicken out or behave like a baby by running away. It’s unfortunate that he has made himself a sort of fugitive.”

He continued: “I use this medium to call on him to come and answer to the charges. Off course He’s innocent according to the law, let him come and answer to the charges.”

Asked if the case was adjourned, he said: “Pending when he is produced, we cannot fix a date now. It is left for every and any law enforcement officer who sees him anywhere in the world to produce him and bring him to clear himself of the charges at Erho Magistrate Court.”

Oasis Magazine learnt that the said charges border on threatening violence, defamation and conduct likely to breach peace.

Recall that Efemena in an interview with Oasis Magazine, said that Efe Kigho was suspended, adding that Kigho had no right to advice the new Abraka DPO, SP Fabian Ayameh.

He also said that the suspension was due to the gross misconduct of Efe Kigho, who he said extorted Abraka indigenes and brutalised youths.

Attempts to speak with Umukoro to find out why he was not in court proved abortive, as text and WhatsApp messages sent to his phone number were not responded to.
