Community Newspaper Publishers In Delta Set To Hold Annual Event Next Week

Publishers of Community Newspapers under the aegis of Association of Community Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria, Delta State Chapter are set to hold their 2021 Media Week with the Theme: “Community Media, Covid-19 and Proper Information Management”.
A number of activities to mark the Media Week have been apportioned to each day of the week with the grand-finale taking place on Thursday, November 11, 2021, which will feature a presentation by the Guest Speaker, Dr. Michael Nwoko, SSA to Delta State Governor on Health Monitoring.
During the occasion, deserving individuals and corporate entities will be celebrated and honoured with Community Champion Awards, in recognition of their meritorious achievements in their various communities and chosen endeavours.
The Traditional Ruler of Ubulu-Uno Kingdom, HRM Obi Kikachukwu Henry Afamefune JP, Ph.D will be the Royal Father of the Day while the Omu Anioma, HRM Obi Martha Dunkwu will be the Royal Mother of the Day.
The Chief Host is the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu, while the Host is the Chairman of ACNPN, Comrade Jude Obiemenyego.
The event is billed to hold November 11, 2021, starting from 12 noon prompt at Orchid Hotel, DBS Road, Asaba.

A statement signed by Comrade Patrick Ochei, Chairman, Organising Committee, said: “We want to use this medium to invite members of our various communities across Delta and the public in general, to grace the occasion as our partners in progress.
“However, your modest financial support towards our vision to procure and manage our own printing press for the benefit of our members, to serve their communities better will be highly appreciated.
“Consequently, we call on our invited guests and members alike to observe the Covid-19 protocols as they come, bearing in mind that all the protocols will be complied with, including the use of nose mask as prerequisite for entry.”
