APC Chieftain, Deniran Rejects Omo-Agege’s Christmas Gift, As DSP’s Aide Reacts

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ethiope East LGA, Chief Ufuoma Deniran, has rejected a bag of rice gift from the Deputy President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.

Spy News reports that he bag of rice which was delivered to the residence of Chief Ufuoma Deniran by the Ethiope East LGA Secretary of the Sobotie led Exco of the APC, Blessing Etaghene, while he (Deniran) was away in Benin, was returned to the office of Bar Ejiro Etaghene by Chief Deniran.

Chief Deniran who did not disclose in full the reason for his rejection of the Christmas rice gift, said his decision was as a result of the grievances that he has from the party congresses in the Delta State.

“You give and accept gifts from loved ones and not from those who don’t want things to be done in the right way. I have long sent this signal,” he said in a statement made available to Spy News.

Reacting to the development, Mr Chuks Erhire, Liaison Officer of the Constituency Office of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege said Chief Deniran has the right to accept or reject the bag of rice gift, adding that there were too many people on ground itching to receive the bag of rice as Xmas gift with joy and gratitude to the Deputy President of Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege.

He said: “It is not compulsory that he should accept it, if he doesn’t want it he should bring it we have people who desperately need it.”
