I Will Give N1M To Anyone That Has Proof That I Want To Buy Abraka Main Market, Says Iyke
By Daniel Dafe
The CEO of 3CEES Hotel & Suites and Iyke Supermarket, both in Abraka, Ethiope East of Delta State, Duru Ikechukwu popularly known as Iyke has debunked news making the rounds that he has made arrangements to buy the main market in the university community, saying that anyone that has evidence that he wants to buy the market should present it and he will give the person a million naira.
Recall that traders in the community protested on Thursday over plans to demolish the market and build a new one. But, some said that the business tycoon was at the root of their predicaments because he wants to buy the market.
Mr. Ikechukwu who spoke to Oasis Magazine during a phone conversation wondered why people will come up with such talk that he wants to take over the market.
According to him, his enemies and haters are behind the rumour.
He said: “Am I a politician that wants to buy a market? I have called the king. They even went to my supermarket to protest. I don’t know anything about Abraka market. I don’t know the Chairman of the Local Government. I don’t have his number. Anyone that has evidence that I priced the market should present it and I will give him or her a million naira.
“I have not entered that market once. What do I want to do with it? It is my enemies that are trying to use this lie against me.”
He continued: “It was only recently that I was at the palace to pay homage to the king where I presented a cow to him and other items. I met the traders there that day. The council chairman was there also. All they were saying I did not know because I don’t hear Urhobo.
“Oasis Magazine please help me tell the world that I know nothing about buying the market and I don’t need it for anything.”
