Deltans At Home And The Diaspora, Not Political Parties Or Godfathers Will Determine Next Governor
North America Urhobo 2023 group is of the opinion that just a name or the backing of the “godfathers” will not see any candidate from Delta Central through the 2023 election. The next Governor of Delta state in 2023 will be solely enshrined in a PERSONALITY and not a PERSON, name, and or godfatherism. This group will activate all of our resources and network within the international community and in Nigeria to ensure proper vetting of all candidates gunning for this public service office before any of them can earn the endorsement of this formidable pressure diaspora group.
As the saying goes, “personality is the characteristic sets of behaviors, cognitions, and emotional patterns that evolve from organic and environmental factors”; hence, it is very important that all these gladiators in Delta State political arena understand that the political future of Delta State as to who become the next Governor superseded just being a card carrying member of a political party but being in possession of a voter’s card (PVC). Facts have emerged based on our group’s intel on grounds that there are more independent non-political party affiliated voters (PVC carrying Deltans) than known to the political parties. These are the swing voters that we are directly in touch with, these are the everyday artisans, our family members at home that benefit from our hard earned foreign cash as we look out for them every time, they are the Mama and Papa that these candidates and their political parties continues to underplay their well-being and welfare over the years with empty promises and vague party affiliated slogans. Not anymore,
It is no longer news that one of the political parties in Delta State had a mega rally in an effort to make their presence known, revalidate their hold on the Delta State Government House and give opportunity to several of their gubernatorial candidates and their teeming supporters the chance to showcase themselves in a battle of popularity contest. It is obvious that most of the candidates and their supporters try to outdo each other in their open display of banners and all sorts of branded materials to the admiration their so-called Godfathers and Kingmakers amongst which is the present governor of the State and a well-known political godfather in the state present at the mega rally.
Unfortunately, some of the display at the mega rally is part and parcel of what is becoming a vicious political knife fight, fueled by spite between two political leaders who would have been considered principal political allies. The internal battle between the supporter of the current governor, his presumed anointed candidate and the radical die-hard supporters of a former governor has transformed into a bidding war for political war-fighting credentials, hence Delta State will be a battleground of sort not only between opposition parties, but between people of same political inclination. But guess who will win this battle of wit, the average citizen of Delta State, the card carrying indigenes who will not be bought by these money bags and selfish self gratifying political jobbers who continue to malign the position of an average voter in the state.
We have been able to galvanize this base and get them excited about the power of their voter’s card. We have encouraged them not to support those who just want to share foodstuff but to look for candidates who have taken their issue to mind before now. The candidate who has shown concern to their immediate wellbeing and shown compassion to their communities.
In spite of agitation in some political circles/quarters trying to thwart the gentleman agreement of zoning Delta State 2023 gubernatorial position to Delta Central, yet there is a bipartisan consensus that the state must give an urhobo person the opportunity to produce the next governor of the State.
It is very pertinent to note that Delta State indigenes in the diaspora and most importantly in continental North America will not folding their arms and watch from afar, but has vowed to be actively involved in ensuring a level playing grounds for all gubernatorial candidates from Urhobo clan and most importantly, to also encourage massive participation of Delta State women in seeking political offices come 2023.

North America Urhobo 2023 platform is in many ways opposed to several decades long political parties’ arrangements of “how do it” during elections. We will continue to encourage efforts tailoring our platform to appeal for peaceful elections come 2023, devoid of hooliganism and wanton destruction of lives and properties in Delta State as we continue to populate our new voters drive and participation in local elections in the State by more women.
We will not hesitate to file a formal complaint and submit the name of any candidate or their godfathers who are poise to provoke trouble in Delta State to the Community of Foreign Missions in Nigeria for decisive and direct impact on their persons if they fail to adhere to our citizens rights to free and fair election in Delta State.
Just like anyone else who has been through the effect of the global pandemic, starvation, sickness, depression, unemployment, civil and political unrest, and the spirit of our being has been tested like never before, hence, it is imperative for leaders and these candidates vying for the governorship position in Delta State to demonstrate absolute compassion for the people they hope to lead.
The time for change in the personality of whoever would serve the people of Delta State at every level is now, We cannot continue to trust a process of total reliance on political party membership and its ideology that comes from a tradition of minimum change which fails to deal well with societal guidance and issues – No more will the people of Delta State be governed by politicians that are not compassionate, blind to the basic need of an average citizen, tow party line over the critical needs and desires of her citizenry, and/or formulate policies that is indeed opposed to basic liberty principles and programs that lift Delta State citizens out of poverty.
Long Live Delta State.
