Every Senatorial District Deserves Governorship Of Delta – Amori
National Chairman of the Delta Central 2023 (DC-23), Senator Chief Ighoyota Amori has said that every Senatorial District in Delta deserves the governorship of the state.
Speaking when the DC-23, a political lobby group under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), paid a consultative visit to the Isoko North PDP leaders and stakeholders at Ozoro on Sunday, Chief Amori said that it was high time the zoning in the state was perfected to ensure fairness and equity among the senatorial districts.
According to him, we have come to preach fairness and equity in the rotation of the governorship of the state among the three senatorial districts.
“Every senatorial district is entitled to the governorship of the state based on equity and fairness.
“Let it be written or unwritten but it should move from one Senatorial district to another, so that when it is not your turn you don’t waste your time to contest.
“Take it as a vow that we will reciprocate every support that we get and we will not disappoint you,” Amori stated.
He pledged that the Urhobos would not contest the governorship after their eight year tenure until it gets to their turn again.
He commended the leader of the Isoko North PDP Hon. Leo Ogor for his outstanding leadership and contributions to the growth of the party in the country.
“To our leader and brother whom we call the “Lion” in Abuja, we thank you for what you have done for our party in Nigeria.
“We are proud of your accomplishments and I am happy to say that I am part of your success story.” he added.
Responding on behalf of the Isoko North Political leaders, Pioneer Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Emmanuel Okoro reiterated the long standing political affinity between the Urhobo and Isoko nations, describing them as brothers.

Okoro who is Special Adviser to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Community and Rural Development, said the party in Isoko North supports zoning of the governorship of the state, declaring that Isoko nation would patiently wait till 2031 to launch its governorship bid and sought the support of the Urhobo nation and other ethnic groups in the state.
He commended Governor Okowa for his outstanding leadership of the party in the state and pledged the continous loyalty and commitment of the Isoko North PDP.
Member representing Isoko North Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Jude Ogbimi, Delta State Commissioner for Energy, Engr Jonathan Ukodhiko; DESOPADEC Commissioner Dr Paul Oweh, Chairman Isoko North Local Government Council, Hon. Christian Iteire, Chairman Isoko North PDP Prince Godwin Ogorugba, State PDP Legal Adviser Bernard Odior Esq., Political Adviser to the Speaker Chief Emmanuel Edevor and Chief Kome Okpobor among others, joined Hon Leo Ogor to welcome the DC-23 team.
