Former Ethiope East LGA Vice Chairman, Izu, Loses Mother
By Daniel Dafe
Deaconess (Mrs.) Anini Izu, mother of the immediate past Vice Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Area in Delta State, Hon. Christoper Izu is dead.
She died on Friday morning at 90 in Abraka.
Reacting, Hon. Izu described her demise as “a very painful thing to deal with,” adding that “she was a caring and a loving mother.”
He continued: “She is a woman everyone would want to have as a mother. She was there through thick and thin, through every stage of my life. Even at her age before she departed, she cared about everything I do political and otherwise. We will surely miss her so much.”
According to him, he was shocked when he learnt of it, saying that he has lost “a companion and a friend.”
“She is a woman that stood for all her children. She has always been there for all of us. I will miss her advice and words of encouragement. She straightened my life as an individual. The life I am living today, I give honour to her for it. She shaped me from infancy up to my youthful age. When I was going astray, she brought me into the line of life and I never regretted it.”
She left behind six children.
Meanwhile, the politician, his elder brother, Mr. Monday Izu, Chairman, SSANU, Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka and others have since been receiving visitors from the university community, PDP political family and other groups in condolence visits.
