Imodje Blasts Emerhor, Says EPF, Delta APC Won’t Survive The Tsunami After Kohwo’s Defection To PDP

Chief Sir Imodje has said that Olorogun Otega Emerhor’s EPF and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State will not be able to survive the political tsunami that will befall them after the mass exodus of the followers of Chief Sylvester Kohwo from the APC, come Saturday, February 22, 2022.

In a statement signed by Chief Sir Imodje on behalf of associates of Chief Sylvester Kohwo, while reacting to a publication credited to Emerhor titled “DELTA APC: Few stomach politicians defecting, not EPF,” he added that it is their considered opinion “that Olorogun Otega must have been quoted out of context.”

Emerhor in the said publication, said, inter alia: “Only Chief Ogodo and Chief Kohwo and a few who have now become stomach politicians are decamping after allegedly receiving cash inducements as ‘rally mobilisation.”

According to Imodje, Emerhor is “too refined to resort to gutter language in describing his close political associates for close to 10 years, associates who have stood by him right from the time he defected from the PDP to contest under the banner of the APC in 2013.”

The statement continued: “These were men of revered political pedigree who put their political fortunes on the line to support the political voyage of Otega Emerhor.

“It is on record that since 2003 when Chief Sylvester Kohwo committed all his hard earned money into supporting the political foray of Chief Great Ogboru, he had been in opposition politics in Delta State. It is equally on record that when Otega Emerhor decided to join forces with the opposition and decamped from the PDP, Chief Kohwo made his political structure in Delta Central Senatorial District available to him. The question to ask is this: was Otega Emerhor a stomach politician when he decided to pursue his political career with the APC by decamping from the PDP? One is left to wonder whether the mass fortunes which Otega Emerhor garnered from his stooges in the NDDC do not qualify him to be called a stomach politician.”

“Otega Emerhor should come out to tell the world what he gained from his political alliance with Chief Ovie Omo-Agege that made him to sell out the entire followership of EPF to the DSP.”

“Should Otega not be referred to as a stomach politician by entering into an alliance that completely condemned all his loyal followers to second class citizens in the APC?” he quizzed.

Continuing, he said that “on behalf of the massive followers of Chief Sylvester Kohwo we make bold to say that Chief Kohwo is taking the right step by leading his followers into the fold of the PDP, come Saturday 22, 2022. This step is based on his firm belief that all Urhobo sons and daughters must rally round to ensure that a Governor from Delta Central Senatorial District takes over from our amiable and hardworking Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, come May 2023. Chief Kohwo is of the firm belief that this ambition cannot be achieved under the platform of the APC.”
