Internet Safety Advocate, Onadipe Begins Fundraising Of $500,000 To Build Online Abuse Counselling & Rehabilitation Center
As part of his efforts to educate the general public about internet safety and reduce online abuse among youths and the society at large, Mr. Rotimi Onadipe, Chief Executive Officer of Onadipe Technologies and Founder, Internet Safety Magazine, has disclosed his plan to raise $500,000.00 to build Online Abuse Counseling and Rehabilitation Center in Ibadan, Oyo State.
He disclosed this during a press conference in Ibadan on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.
Onadipe, an advocate of internet safety whose publications about online safety have gone viral online in many news platforms around the world, said his next project is to build an Online Abuse Counseling and Rehabilitation Center, where all issues relating to cyber crimes and internet abuse in general will be addressed and a lasting solution is provided.
Some of his publications on internet safety have also been used by stakeholders, researchers, scholars and authors in chapters of books and in many academic outlets around the world.

Onadipe said in today’s digital age, the menace of online abuse had done incalculable damage to many lives and the society at large. “Many teenagers have been killed, many homes have broken, many lives traumatized, businesses crashed, ministries folded up, many individuals and organizations lost their reputations while a large number of youths have been jailed for various internet related crimes around the world,” the publisher said.
He added that one of the main reasons for the prevalence of online abuse among youths and the society at large in today’s digital age is because there is no proper counseling and rehabilitation programmes for victims of online abuse.
In respect of the fundraising campaign, Onadipe said even though he has not posted his organization’s account details online, some individuals and organizations that heard about the fundraising campaign have contacted him for account details and donated some money towards the project.
In his concluding remarks, Onadipe said any individual or organization that wishes to donate towards the project may search for Rotimi Onadipe on the internet to get his contact details and discuss with him.
