Politicians Should Become Poorer, Not Richer After Office —SDP Presidential Aspirant, Prince Adebayo
By Daniel Dafe
Presidential aspirant of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, has said that politicians in government ought to become poorer, not richer after they get out of office.
Prince Adebayo who said this during a dinner with SDP chairmen, added that the only way politicians can succeed in government is when after spending 4-8years they come out 5 times poorer than when they were elected.
He added: “Our lives should not change a little, even a little bit above the life of an average person. We should measure our success by what happens to the lowest person In the society. If i go to your community, every youth who is used to be unemployed is employed, every pothole is blocked, every school is open, every hospital is of service to you and Heads of states of other countries will come to Nigeria for medical checkup not ours always on ambulance going over there all the time.”

To the chairmen, he said: “We should not say when you get to power, will you take care of the Chairmen? God will take care of the Chairmen; let us take care of the people. Let people see our children and grandchildren and say “I followed your father or grandfather to a party and when the party came all the problems of this community disappeared”.
“It should be that these people sacrificed their time and they made the country good because if the country is good, since we are inside the country we will be part of the goodness of the country.”
According to him, if he emerges in 2023, he will come out poorer and not like what is seen around where politicians go in poor and come out rich.
