Lorry Drivers In Onitsha Block High Ways To Protest Alleged Bursting Of A Colleague’s Tyre By Naval Officers

Lorry drivers in Onitsha have staged a peaceful protest against men of the Nigerian Navy stationed at Uga Junction Onitsha, for shooting at the tyre of one of their members.
ABS correspondent Faith Onyemuche who monitored the situation reports that the Onitsha Enugu express way was blocked in the early hours of today by heavy duty vehicles causing traffic and restriction of vehicular movement.
According to members of the union who spoke off camera, men of the Nigerian Navy at the Uga junction, Onitsha had an issue with the driver of a lorry which they claim led to a shot at his vehicle tyre.

The other drivers on seeing the development parked their vehicles and requested that the burst tyre be replaced.
As at the time of the report negotiation was still on going with men of the Navy and the drivers.
