The Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Douye Diri, Hon. Peter Akpe, the Special Adviser on Political Matters to Governor Douye Diri, Chief Collins Cocodia, the Director of Transport to Governor Douye Diri, Hon. Lucky Youbougha and the PDP State Secretary, Hon. Gesiye Isowo are the people responsible for resignations and defections of members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the Social Democratic Party, SDP, and other Political Parties.

The three political appointees (Peter Akpe, Collins Cocodia and Lucky Youbougha) under the Prosperity Government led by Governor Douye Diri, including the PDP State Secretary, Gesiye Isowo are the people who are managing the affairs of the Government and the PDP, relegating other critical leaders, stakeholders who fought gallantly for the emergence of the present administration from being part of the government.

Mr Perekeme Oyinkuro stated categorically that majority of the political appointees in the Restoration Government were in the opposition Party, the APC, who fought against the victory of the PDP and Governor Douye Diri led Prosperity Government.

“It is worthy to note that the political history of the three cartel political appointees of the prosperity administration (Akpe, Cocodia and Lucky) won’t be complete without acknowledging the relentless contributions of the former Governor who picked them up from the gutters and engaged them with sensitive political appointments and party offices which has made them to be relevant in the state politics today.

Mr Perekeme stated categorically that the primary motive of the three cartel members from Sagbama Local Government Area in the Prosperity Government (Peter Akpe, Collins Cocodia and Lucky Youbougha) is to push away the former Governor in any form of interference with the present administration because they are desperately fighting to take the mantle of leadership from the former governor in his Local Government Area and the Senatorial district at large.

He added that the three appointees are the people setting confusion and disunity between the Governor, Senator Douye Diri and his predecessor, Senator Seriake Dickson, stressing that they are the brain behind the Prosperity camp and Restoration camp drama with the sole purpose of driving away critical stakeholders from the government in order to be in control of the government forgetting that they served as political appointees under the Restoration Government.

“It is an unarguable fact that the three cartel members has been giving out political appointments at will without the knowledge of the Governor or seeking the consent of the former Governor who fought tirelessly and gallantly for the emergence of the Prosperity Government, which is a clear indication of their high level of untrustworthiness, desperateness, disloyalty and betrayal to the former Governor and the PDP.

The three cartel members, Peter Akpe, Collins Cocodia and Lucky Youbougha gave out appointment slots of Toru-Orua Community where the former Governor hails from, without seeking the guidance and consent of the former Governor under the present administration, which is totally a disrespect to the former Governor as the leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Local Government Area.

“Ebedebiri Community in Sagbama Local Government Area has the highest number of political appointees in the Restoration Government across the State with the influence of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Peter Akpe who has assumed the office of the Governor.

“It is important to note that the former Governor was never consulted in the party primary elections that led to the emergence of the State and National assembly Candidates of the Party in the Local Government Area, the Senatorial district and the State at large, stressing that the three cartel members personally made selections of their preferred candidates in the primaries.

Mr Perekeme further stated that Hon. Peter Akpe, Chief Collins Cocodia, Hon. Lucky Youbougha and the PDP State Secretary, Mr Gesiye Isowo are the people to be blamed for the defections of critical stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in the State, stressing that they thwarted all efforts of the reconciliation committee set up by Governor Douye Diri.

He urged Gov. Diri to be very mindful of the three cartel members of his administration in handling issues of the government and the party most especially when it comes to political appointments, internal party issues and other relevant issues that needs to be handled diligence with the aim of achieving the desired result at the end of the day.
