IDU Reacts, As Court Sacks Professor Akpotu-led Exco
By Daniel Dafe
The Isoko Development Union, IDU, has reacted to the court judgment by the Delta State High Court sitting in Kwale today, that sacked Prof. Chris Akpotu-led Isoko Development Union (IDU) and declared the activities of his exco in office since inception illegal.
According to a statement signed by Jubilant Igelige JP, Nat’l Publicity Secretary, Isoko Development Union, “it is disgusting to say that those with passion for divisive perceptions and underdevelopment of Isoko Nationality have sponsored and boasted to undo the Isoko Apex social cultural body.”

Adding: “This sinister action has severally failed, but vaguely succeeded as arranged when Courts are going on vacation. Unfortunately, this induced and lopsided judgement NEVER APPROVED ANYONE OR TEAM to take over from Prof. Chris Akpotu led executive. Grave error!.”
The statement continued: “Going forward, we respectfully call on all Isoko sons and daughters, home and abroad to remain calm, as the matter is been technically and professionally handled by well meaning Isoko people, through same legal routes. The judgment is a clear case of miscarriage of justice and we are set for Appeal.”
“IDU is not a property of one man and would not allow self aggrandized and self centered persons drag us through the mud.”
